In 1994, New Life Home Trust began with three babies, when missionaries Clive and Mary Beckenham became aware of the high number of abandoned and vulnerable babies in Kenya. Now, having rescued and cared for more than 2,000 babies at 4 locations in Kenya, NLHT is a bright light in dark places. New Life Home Trust was founded in 1994 to provide a compassionate Christian response to the plight of abandoned and other extremely vulnerable babies, with priority given to those who are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. To date and through our 4 locations nationwide, we have rescued and cared for more than 2200 children since inception. If children have not managed to be adopted by the time they are 5 we move them to “family homes” where they will grow up in groups as brothers and sisters in a family unit. These homes were set up to provide a suitable home for the older teenage children who haven’t been adopted. It was decided that this would be the best home for the three girls, aged 10 – 14 who were living in Kisumu.

The Home was established in 2000 and has the capacity to host 70 babies and children. Please join with us in prayer for these girls that they transition well in every way.

The girls are settling well into their new lives at Carmel House and there are plans for one of their fellow sisters, also aged 10 to come and join them at the end of the school term, just in time for Christmas. Well for those children who aren’t adopted, New Life does their best to place them in a suitable home environment to help them thrive into young adults. Sponsor a crib is a programme that supports the day to day needs of a child. In the summer three girls moved from our home in Kisumu, Amani Cottage to Carmel House in Nakuru, over 100 miles southeast of Kisumu. Nearly all the babies have left New Life Home Trust before their 3rd birthday.

The girls who have moved from Amani Cottage will have opportunities to take part therefore expanding their experiences in life.
